Abstract : The patent relates to a noise-injection system for use in a radar receiver which employs STC. Noise is injected into the receiver channel to maintain the noise level in the receiver constant as a function of range. This results in a constant signal-to-noise ratio and a constant probability of detecting a minimum-size target. The noise-injection system is controlled by the STC function generator.
