Abstract : The patent discloses a high average power solid state laser including a lasing medium fabricated in the shape of a hollow, thin walled, circular tube. A flashlamp is placed within the tube to provide optimum coupling and a liquid cooling system is provided for removing heat from the inner and outer surfaces of the lasing medium and the flashlamp.
