Abstract : This patent pertains to a process for making spherical solid particles, especially useful for solid explosives and propellant ingredients. The solid material, such as hydroxylammonium perchlorate, is subjected to a temperature above its melting in a liquid medium, such as tetrachloroethylene, and thereby being transformed into its molten state, is passed through a series of successively lower temperatures of the same liquid medium to form the rounded particles.
