Abstract : This invention pertains to a method for inhibiting the soft-center cure phenomenon encountered during the curing process of polyurethane-based propellant compositions. Inhibition is accomplished by including small amounts of an oxidant additive to the propellant mixture prior to the curing process. The addition of the oxidant material of this invention enables the formulation of an improved composite type propellant composition which includes a conventional oxidizer, a polyurethane binder material and a finely ground aluminum metal as basic constituents.
