Abstract : The present invention comprises a low frequency photoparametric amplifying upconverter which uses a pumping source, isolating and clamping capacitor, InSb or Si photodiode and load resistance, all connected in series. The input for the photoparametric amplifying upconverter is the junction current generated by illumination of the photodiode. Thus, the photoparametric amplifying upconverter is simply a p-n junction that is illuminated to act as a photodiode and pumped so that it operates as a photoparametric amplifying upconverter.
