Abstract : The apparatus includes spacers and spacer locations which, in combination, center and hold a smaller metal inner conduit within a larger non-metallic outer conduit. The spacers and the spacer locators are made of bendable material that, in turn, is of a low coefficient polymer material which has a high temperature capability, that can be injection and/or compression molded at low cost, and that is resistant to fluid fuels. Each of the spacers has a centrally located opening, and a slit, with complementary snap edges, from the opening to the outer edge of the spacer. Each of the spacer locators are releasably connectable to the outer edge of each of the spacers. The spacers are transversely disposed at preselected locations along the length of the inner conduit which passes through and abuts the centrally located openings of the spacers. The spacer locators keep the spacers at the preselected locations. Unlike the prior art, this apparatus centers the inner conduit at low cost, and also eliminates, or at least minimizes, the fretting and eventual failure of the non-metallic outer conduit. (Author)
