Abstract : Intruder detection and tracking is achieved by a detection system that utilizes multiple discrete R.F. energy receiving sensors and a remote RF transmitter that illuminates the sensors either simultaneously or in a prescribed time sequence. The sensors are preferably leaky coaxial cable elements that encompass resources to be protected. The presence of an intruder in the vicinity of a leaky coaxial cable modifies its R.F. field providing a change in the received power that is processed by R.F. receiver and indicating circuits to produce an alarm. Intruder event information is also displayed as a function of sensor location to provide intruder tracking capability. (Author)
