Abstract : Designed is a missile fuzing system adapted to detonate the missile at a predetermined altitude regardless of the reflection coefficient of or the velocity of approach to the earth, said system comprises in combination: an antenna adapted to radiate radio frequency energy toward a target and receive reflected energy therefrom, an oscillating detector connected to said antenna. The oscillating detector mixes the transmitted and reflected energy to produce a doppler signal at its output representative of the relative velocity between the missile and the earth. First envelope detection means connected to the output of said oscillating detector for producing a negative signal corresponding to the envelope of said doppler signal. A network connects to the output of said oscillating detector for producing an output signal having a peak amplitude which is proportional to the product of a first and second quantity.
