Abstract : An acoustic disturbance in a thin support rod may be suppressed by detecting the disturbance, and processing the detected signal with electronic circuits to generate two output signals, which are injected into the rod at spatially separate positions. It is the solution of the waveforms for the output signals that is the essence of the technique. The principal component of the electronic circuits is an integrator. There are also delay devices and summing circuits. (Author)
