Abstract : This patent discloses a thermochemical transport system for energy in which heat is transported from the point of receiving to the point of delivery by a working fluid which undergoes endothermic reaction by methane-steam reforming at the heat receiving end and exothermic methanation at the heat delivery end. The working fluid is a mixture of methane, steam, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen, for which the ratio of atomic oxygen to atomic hydrogen to atomic carbon is 2y+2z+4 where y is between 1 and 5 and z is between 0.1 and 5.
