Abstract : The present application discloses a low cost method and apparatus for scoring the performance of a trainee in his or her use of a military-type weapon in simulation. In the broader sense, the invention disclosed determines and records whether the analog value of a test signal is within a preselected range of a preselected analog value. In the intended environment the preselected analog value denotes the centrex of a target. And, the preselected range is in the area of proximity to the target that denotes a hit , and is provided by a steady-state voltage that is taken in sum and difference format with the above-identified preselected analog value.
