Abstract : Ternary metallic alloys of the formula Li(x)B(y)M(z), wherein 0.05 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.90, 0.05 less than or equal to y less than or equal to 0.90, 0.05 less than or equal to z less than or equal to 0.90, and x + y + z = 1 and a method of preparing them. These alloys find use in areas where superlight weight, high specific strength (strength/weight ratio) and oxidation resistance are required.
