Abstract : An aerosol dispensing apparatus comprising a housing having a charging chamber which receives the medicated vapor under pressure from a mist generator positioned within a shaft which extends from the housing. The charging chamber is partially sealed by a blast valve which is attached to a movable bracket positioned within the housing and mounted on the shaft in slidable engagement with the shaft. There is also attached to the movable bracket a diaphragm which is positioned in a rear chamber of the housing adjacent to the charging chamber. Medicated vapor from the charging chamber is supplied to the rear chamber exerting a force on the diaphragm. When the force exerted by the medicated vapors on the diaphragm exceeds a predetermined pressure level, the diaphragm moves the shaft unseating the blast valve which allows the pressurized medicated vapor to enter a wave shaping chamber within the housing. A pair of annular ports at the front end of the housing receive the medicated vapor from the wave shaping chamber and, in combination, with the wave shaping chamber form the train of ring vortices of medicated vapor. The train of ring vortices of medicated vapor is directed to a mask which covers a patient's mouth and nose allowing the patient to inhale the train of ring vortices of medicated vapor.
