Abstract : Based on the above and foregoing, it can be appreciated that there presently exists a need in the art for a computer system and corresponding operating method which overcomes the above-described deficiencies. The present invention was motivated by a desire to overcome the drawbacks and shortcomings of the presently available technology, and thereby fulfill this need in the art. One object according to the present invention is to provide a computer system for interconnecting various military components efficiently. According to one aspect of the present invention, the computer system advantageously permits military components to use the same computer program and share information beyond the visualization of a map, text or photograph regardless of variations in hardware and software between the networked computers. According to another aspect of the invention, a dedicated scripting language enables each military component to quickly and easily personalize the user front end, which presents the GUI objects, without modifying the same software program application used by all networked military components. Thus, the Government simultaneously achieves military component interoperability and cost savings regardless of computer variation and architecture.
