Abstract : Data on the radiation yields from nitrous oxide gas, and the effects of variables, including dose-rate, total dose, pressure, temperature, applied fields and scavengers are reviewed. The use of N2O as a gas-phase, chemical dosimeter is discussed. Primary processes in irradiated N2O are discussed and elementary reactions, relevant to the system, are listed.
