Abstract : Helium is being used in nuclear power plants as a working substance. The increasing introduction of nuclear power into the national economy requires most accurate data on the properties of helium. A first attempt to tabulate systematic data on the thermophysical properties of helium was made in a monograph published by Gosenergoizdat in 1961. This includes data between 0 and 1000 deg C, and 1 and 200 atm. Comprehensive tables of thermodynamic and thermophysical properties of helium were compiled from experimental and theoretical studies which we carried out over several years at the Moscow Power Institute, and from literature data published during recent years. In the tables (Chapter V) the values of specific volume, density compressibility, enthalpy, entropy, thermal conductivity coefficients, and viscosity of helium are listed for the temperature range from 0 to 3000 deg C and for pressures from 0.2 to 200 bar.
