Abstract : In science and technology today and in the foreseeable future, an important place belongs to the investigation and practical application of high-temperature processes that are accompanied by physicochemical transformations of matter which is usually the combustion products of high-energy fuels. The use of oxidizers more active than air (oxygen and oxygen-rich substances, fluorine, etc.) and high-energy fuels (hydrogen and its compounds, metal-containing substances, etc.) ensures a high temperature of the combustion products and their thermal dissociation and ionization. Thus, the combustion products of high-energy propellants are chemically active high-temperature multicomponent mixtures. The study of the composition and properties of these mixtures, and of parameters of the processes taking place, is one of the most important tasks of modern thermodynamics and thermophysics.
