Abstract : This bibliography contains 1498 references of the structures and force fields of the binary fluorides. There are numerous examples here of the use of electron diffraction, infrared, Raman, and microwave spectroscopy, NR, ESR, mass spectrometry, electric field deflection, thermodynamic measurements (vapor pressure and heat capacity), and ab initio and semiempirical calculations, as applied to the solution of structural problems. We have included a representative collection of material (not necessarily exclusively relating to fluorides) on vibrational analysis, which can be found in the sections labeled MX2 to MX9 and also in a section labeled Vibrational Analysis. These sections contain examples of variety of different force fields. One can find formulas for many of the standard G matrices, F matrices, and Coriolis zeta coefficients employed in force field calculations. There is also information on the calculation and use of vibrational amplitudes, which are normally coupled with electrondiffractiondetermined amplitudes as a means of refining force fields.
