The Objective of this report was to determine whether transferring pregnant women from ships costs the Navy more permanent change of station (PCS) funds than transferring men and nonpregnant women information was extracted from the enlisted master record concerning gender, reason for transfer, time remaining until prospective rotation date(PRD), receiving command, and the cost of PCS moves for all premature transfers in FY92 from gender-integrated afloat units. The direct costs of transfer prior to PRD was compared for men and women and an estimate of PCS costs, if the ships were not gender-integrated, was also calculated.
