This is a videotape of the second GILS Conference that was held November 13-14 at the National Archives in College Park, Maryland. The Conference brought together the diverse communities that have an interest in the Government Information Locator Service (GILS), and provided a convenient forum for discussing its strengths, weaknesses, and future directions. The conference highlighted applications, such as the U.S. Federal GILS, and the lessons learned in their development and maintenance. The keynote speaker was Paul Evan Petes of the Coalition for Networked information. panelists included Charles McClure and William Moen who are evaluating the Federal GILS, Gary Bass, OBM Watch; Brewster Kahle, Internet Archives, and Eliot Christian, U.S. Geological Survey.
