This is a video of Vice President Gore's address and town hall meeting at the Reinvention Revolution Conference on April 7, 1997. This conference was held at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. It was co-hosted by Gore's National Performance Review (NPR) for federal, state, and local government reinventors. Gore gave a sneak preview of a soon-to-be published poll that shows a rise in public confidence in government and cited agencies use of technology, particularly the Internet, to make revolutionary changes in customer service. In response to obstacles raised at last year's meeting. Gore mentioned that the Federal Communications Network has made real progress with keeping reinventors informed and that the White House is using the Blair House Papers to tell top brass 'to get it...implement it, do it'. After Gore's address, he conducted a town hall meeting with government reinventors from around the country.
