Abstract : In many structural design tasks the designer's goal is to minimize and/or maximize several functions simultaneously. This situation is formulated as a multicriterion optimization problem. Since optimization tasks in structural design are often modelled by means of non-linear programming, a multicriterion approach ot this programming is discussed in the paper. The problem is formulated as follows: find a vector of design variables which satisfies constraints and optimizes a vector function which represents several noncomparable criteria.
