Abstract : Temperature-dependent molar extinction coefficients of O2 were measured behind reflected shock waves. Using this temperature dependence of the molar extinction coefficients, the overall temperature profiles of H2-O2 detonation were obtained within an error of 10% and with micro-second time resolution. The temperatures measured at C-J point were nearly the same as the calculated. However, the precise observation of the absorption signal showed that the gas temperature fluctuated shortly after the detonation front.
