Abstract : The present investigation was undertaken in order to measure the rotational relaxation rate of molecular hydrogen by monitoring the number density of n-H2 in a state: v = 0 and J = 1 in the supersonic nozzle flow, by means of coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS). The CARS apparatus was essentially the same type of Regnier and Taran.
