Abstract : The general purpose of the Belgian officer selection system is to define to what extent a candidate will be capable of leading a group of people in difficult and dangerous circumstances. Specific training on aptitudes necessary to become a successful military leader is given in a 5 month's officer training period. The specific objective of the psychotechnical assessment is to determine whether the candidate is sufficiently well qualified to pass the training period with success. It is the aim of this study to validate and improve the prediction capacity of this psychotechnical assessment.
