Abstract : The identification of the cognitive processes essential to performing intelligence analysis, and the translation of these processes into system requirements, is difficult because cognitive processes are not readily definable into quantitative and testable units. TRW has begun to address these issues in several program-related Independent Research and Development (IR/D) activities. This paper concentrates on some of the work done in the user interface area and the design implications specific to C3I systems. (Author)
