Abstract : The dispersive characteristics of magnetostatic waves propagating in multiple magnetic layer structures have been evaluated theoretically and experimentally. In general, the multiple layer surface wave (MSSW) mode is useful for nondispersive operation while the multiple layer forward volume wave (MSFVW) mode can be used to obtain linearly dispersive characteristics. Experimental confirmation of predicted behavior has been obtained for both modes of propagation.
