Abstract : A construct validity paradigm based on maximum likelihood factor analysis is outlined for comparing the validity generalization of selected assessment methods across both traits and populations of interest. The 'fitted' construct validity solution can then be extended on the criterion. This procedure allows one to not only arrive at estimates of the predictive validity of the traits free of possible method contamination but also the predictive validity of the methods independent of traits.
