Abstract : Investigations of the penetration behaviour of deformable projectiles in reinforced concrete slabs show that classical penetration formulas developed for rigid projectiles are not applicable to describe the penetration at impact velocities between 100 and 400 m/s. The measured crater depths are smaller, the divergence increases with higher velocities, because the projectile deformation itself consumes a considerable amount of the kinetic energy of the projectile (Author)
