Abstract : In evaluating seven different therapies, DMSO appears to be most effective in attenuating neurobehavioral signs and histological responses to pressure-induced focal ischemia with the cerebral perfusion pressure lowered to 20 torr. It seems that free-radical scavenging may be the critical mechanism of action by DMSO.
