Abstract : The purpose of this paper is to present the results of the first phase of a three-phase investigation of U.S. Air Force navigators. The results of this study will be used by test developers, instructors, and administrators to improve selection, classification, training and utilization of navigators in the Air Force. The current study is a longitudinal research effort designed to track a single group of subjects through undergraduate, graduate, transition training and for one year in an operational assignment.
