Abstract : This research investigated the impact of environmental distractions on maintenance productivity. The investigator spent 107 hours observing subjects and concluded that over fifty percent of their work shift was spent coping with distractions that hindered task accomplishment. The data suggest that the relationship between productivity and organizational variables is critical.
