Abstract : Electrical conductivity is extremely sensitive to changes in moisture content and temperature. The influence of moisture content and specific gravity on thermal conductivity and moisture movement are discussed with the use of a cellular geometrical model for wood. The use of alternate gradients in Fick's law for the calculation of unsteady-state and steady-state moisture movement are considered. The effect of moisture on wood permeability is described.
