Abstract : The main thrust of a 1982 study is the identification of six candidates for best application of robotic and automation. These six were then designed, cost estimated, and analyzed for cost/benefit and return on investment for possible future implementation. They are: Robotic Machine Vision Inspection Station; Robotic Material Handling System; Robotic Deriveting System; Robotic Welding Station; Robotic Rework Station; and Robotic Inspection Station (F100 Flame Holder). The processes recommended are for high production and difficult to repair components. We intend to pursue these six projects during FY84 through 86 timeframe, as potential initiatives in the productivity, reliability, availability, maintainability program (PRAM).
