Abstract : The manufacture and processing of pyrotechnic mixes has been marked in the past by accidents due to the inherent sensitivity of the materials to stimuli such as friction, impact and static electricity discharge. A program was under taken to evaluate the effectiveness of a fire suppression system in fighting pyrotechnic fires. This paper summarizes test results on several compositions using different deluge components and configurations and efforts that have resulted in improving the response time and effectiveness of fire suppression systems.
