Abstract : For the development of the Alpha-Jet CFRP wing typical connections between different components were examined both theoretically and experimentally; by doing this environmental conditions - component humidity and temperature - were considered mainly within the experimental work which was performed by the DFVLR-Stuttgart. This paper covers typical joints such as: Single-shear connection between skins and spars with low load transfer; joints between skins and ribs due to interior tank pressure; and multi bolt joint between the CFRP skins and the fuselage attachment fittings with reference to bolt strength distribution bearing stresses.
