Abstract : Our company began developing methods for the design and sizing of filament-wound rocket cases in the early 1970's. Such methods have since evolved to the extent that rapid design and precise verification means are now available. The purpose of this document is to outline these two approaches, to criticize them and to evidence their complementarity. Detailed presentations are given to enable the reader to grasp the principal rules, and to gain such information as will enable him to develop them in specific fields. This predominantly theoretical part is completed by considerations relating to materials, their implementation and performances, and by a description of the major principles of fabrication of this type of structure.
