Abstract : This paper addresses long range military transport technologies with emphasis on defining the potential benefits of the hybrid laminar flow control (HLFC) concept currently being flight tested in a cost shared NASA, USAF, and Boeing program. Results of 1990's global range transport study are presented showing the expected payoff from application of advanced technologies. The paper concludes with a technology forecast for military transports.
