Abstract : Atopy is very common among the Italian population. Recent evaluations of the Italian Society of Allergology and Clinical immunology indicate that about 17% of the inhabitants are affected by allergic diseases, and a considerable amount of subjects are suffering for bronchial asthma. Being the prevalence of these pathologies particularly high in the first three decades of life and considering their increasing incidence, allergies became a remarkable problem in the selection of military personnel (1.2.3).
