Abstract : We have observed above-threshold dissociation of H2(+) and D2(+) on time scales comparable to molecular rotation, by photoionizing the neutral molecules in 160 fs pulses of intense 769 nm light. We also see a new dissociation process at high intensities. in recent experiments we subjected H2 and D2 molecules to radiation by ultrashort (160 fs) pulses of 769 nm (1,612 eV) light.
