Abstract : The detailed design and development of turbofans involves the prediction and identification, by means of test analysis, of the performance of the engine and its components. The thermodynamic simulation and analysis codes integrate existing knowledge and interpretations of the detailed operating procedure of the components of the engine being developed. The relevance of the predicted performance depends on the quality of the representation of the various physical phenomena affecting the characteristics of the components and, consequently, on the incorporation of experimental correlation in the modelling.
